He has lived life backward, becoming the coach at his alma mater (Maryland) before joining the pro ranks. Funk scored eight victories on the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="15007111" title="PGA Tour" href="/topic/sports/golf/pga-tour-15007111.topic">PGA Tour</a> and has six on the Champions (Senior) Tour. One of golf's most accurate drivers, he became, at 49, the oldest ever to win <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="EVSPR000156" title="The Players Championship" href="/topic/sports/golf/the-players-championship-EVSPR000156.topic">The Players Championship</a> in 2005. Two years later, he became the first to get a PGA win in Mexico.
