The Northern State women’s tennis team has won six straight matches in a row.

The Wolves are 6-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play. The streak includes wins over Mary (6-3), Moorhead (8-1), Bemidji (9-0), Crookston (8-1), Upper Iowa (6-3) and Martin Luther (9-0).

This past weekend, NSU senior Jamie Golden and freshman Valerie Robinson won all six of their matches. NSU coach Mark Lovrien said, “We had a lot of players play some of their best tennis of the year.”

On Friday in Sartell, Minn., the Wolves will resume NSIC play against St. Cloud State (2:30 p.m.) and Southwest Minnesota State (6 p.m.).

Or a Western Illinois (19-7, 11-3) loss in one of its two home games this week (Kansas City Thursday and South Dakota Saturday) would lock up the top seed for the Jacks as well.
