15: Both South Dakota State teams are the top seeds and defending champs. The University of South Dakota women are third-seeded, the USD men seventh.
14: Tonight’s opening round, which features both the SDSU and USD men, sold out shortly after the schedule was announced. As of Friday morning, there were only a handful of seats remaining for Tuesday’s men’s championship game session.
13: At least 17 NBA teams will be represented by scouts at the Summit League Tournament.

11: The Western Illinois men won a share of the league title with SDSU for the first time since the league’s inaugural 1982-83 season.
10: USD senior point guard Alexis Yackley of Onida has started 87 of her 91 games in her three seasons with the Coyotes (first year was at Iowa State). She also is one of the nation’s best ballhandlers as she always is among the leaders in the all-important assist-to-turnover ratio category.
9: Half of the SDSU women’s 14 players are South Dakotans. (The SDSU men have six, USD women five and the USD men four).
8: Travis Bader of Oakland has made at least one three-pointer in 52 consecutive games. And his team has made at least one in 768 consecutive games dating back to 1987.
7: This will be the fifth year in a row the Sioux Falls Arena has hosted the tourney, and Sioux Falls will continue to do so at least through 2017, with an option for five years after that.
6: In 2015, the tourney will move into the brand-new 12,000-seat Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.
5: In a recent Forbes list ranking the best college basketball coaches for the money: Scott Nagy of SDSU earned the No. 1 spot for mid-major colleges.
4: A record 40,290 fans attended the 2012 tourney.
3: SDSU’s Brayden Carlson has a 3.92 GPA in economics, while teammate Jordan Dykstra has a 3.68 GPA in biology/pre-dentistry. Ashley Eide of SDSU has a 3.97 GPA in health, physical education and recreation.
2: Since moving to Division I in 2004, the SDSU women are 187-73 (.719), with a DI playoff appearance of some kind each year.
1: SDSU’s Nate Wolters has scored in double figures in 68 consecutive games and is averaging 22.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.7 steals.
