Call it pop-up shopping on the rocks.

Yelp Shops Local and small businesses in Hartford, Middletown and New Haven have teamed up to offer a holiday retail crawl on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28. It will includes visits to mini-markets at Hartford Prints, Cinder + Salt in Middletown and Vintanthromodern in New Haven, along with free food and libations along the way.

“We wanted to do something to bring attention to small businesses in Connecticut, so we conceptualized this tour,” says Rory Gale, one of the owners of Hartford Prints. “You get to eat, drink and shop. At each store, there’ll be a number of vendors and plenty of special deals.”

Organizers booked a bus and posted information on the first Shop Small Bus Crawl on Yelp Local. The response was immediate.

“Seats filled quickly, but we hope people will get together with friends and carpool,” says Gale.

Next stop is the grand opening of Cinder + Salt in Middletown, with pop-up shops from Glitter & Bold, Poor & Pretty and The Inedibles, and complimentary NoRa cupcakes and 90+ Prosecco.

The tour ends in New Haven at Vintanthromodern, where pop-ups from Kate Steven Jewelry, Northeast Nutmeg, Gathered + Sown and a no-charge gift wrapping station will be on site, and NoRa cupcakes and 90+ wine will be available.
