The Tuskegee Airmen were the first black Air Force unit to fight during World War II, and ultimately helped the integration of the U.S. military. Fewer than 4,000 of the 15,000 members of the so-called "Tuskegee Experience" remain, and many are gathering in Orlando this week for the 34th annual convention of Tuskegee Airmen Inc. Among the group's interests are outreach, particularly among children, and Wednesday's event will center on youth, with kids from local schools learning about NASA's space program and airplanes. They'll also have lunch with the Airmen.
