It was hard to tell why one coach was on the hot seat, and the other wasn't

The Jets' Rex Ryan was handed a talent-strapped, injury-depleted team with a Geno Smith, a rookie starting quarterback, and turned them into a 8-8 squad. Joe Philbin entered his second season as Miami's head coach with the Dolphins financing a $280 million makeover. And yet people claimed Ryan was the AFC East coach on the hot seat? Philbin's job status is likely safe, but should it be?
