A deputy saw a woman driver speeding in an elementary school zone in Punta Gorda at 8:36 a.m. and made a traffic stop, according to a news release from the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.<BR>

Radar showed Denise Loveada Spear, 33, was traveling 32 mph in a 15 mph posted flashing school zone limit. The Port Charlotte mom said she was dropping off her child at the school; the child got out and then walked to the nearby school, the report states.<BR>

Spear¿s driver¿s license had been suspended over year as a felony habitual offender, according to the release.<BR>

The deputy then noticed her purse in the car and could see the end of a syringe in. After mom consented to a purse search, the deputy located two empty syringes, some crack, oxycodone, morphine, and cocaine, the report states.<BR>

In the jail intake area deputies also reportedly found a dollar bill that contained a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine.<BR>

Spear was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Morphine, Possession of Oxycodone and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia, Driving as a Habitual Traffic Offender, and Introduction of Contraband into a Correctional Facility, according to the report.
