Man swiped wallet from woman, 89, after warning her not to hang purse on walker

An 86-year-old woman had been shopping at the Hospice Thrift Store in Tampa when a man, wearing a red hat and white shirt, approached her and told her that she shouldn’t leave her purse hanging from her walker because someone could snatch it, according to a news release from the Tampa Police Department.

Seconds later the man bent down and swiped the woman’s wallet from her dangling purse, cops said.

The man then quickly walked away and handed over the wallet to an accomplice, a woman wearing pink.

The woman in pink then used the old woman's credit card at a McDonald’s in Tampa, police said.
