Nike Hercules missile

The National Park Service has opened to the public the Nike Hercules Missile Base HM-69 at Everglades National Park. It's the first time people can tour the historic missile base since it was turned over to the park in 1979. Here, Everglades National Park Ranger Leon Howell holds the flag belonging to the U.S. Army, Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 52nd Air Artillery, stationed at the cold war era base. Behind him is a mural of a Nike missile painted by one of it's members when the base was occupied.
