University of Miami 2011: In interviews with Yahoo Sports, convicted Ponzi schemer Nevin Shapiro says he provided cash, gifts, prostitutes and favors to several UM players while as a booster. 2006: Defensive lineman Bryan Pata is murdered. 1994: An investigation by the Miami Herald reveals that rapper Luther Campbell allegedly engaged in pay for play. University of Florida 2009: Janoris Jenkins shot by police with a stun gun and charged with resisting arrest outside of nightclub. 2008: Cam Newton is arrested for stealing a laptop. Florida State University 1993-99: Some start calling the school Free Shoes University after allegations that players were given or received deep discounts on shoes.
