It's still just a speck on the horizon, but a new air show is on its way.
The promoter of Air Lauderdale -- the new name for what was once an annual air and sea tradition at Fort Lauderdale beach -- said the show is coming together for spring 2010. No dates are set yet, but a Web site is up at www.airlauderdale.com, promoter/producer Stanton Smith said.
This May will mark the second year with an air show void.
And a proposed live music two-day festival that was to take place at the beach in May is asking for a 2010 launch date as well.
Air show fans are anxious.
Among those already asking for dates is Finton Wallace of Newport, Rhode Island. He caught the show with family members in the mid-1990s, and was hooked. He's ready to come back, as soon as the air show does.Copyright © 2015, CT Now
