Olympic runner Fanny Blankers-Koen, Jan. 25

Fanny Blankers-Koen, who won three individual Olympic titles, is shown breaking the tape in the 400-meter relay to win her fourth Olympic medal as a member of the Dutch relay team Aug. 7,1948, in London, England. Blankers-Koen, revered in the Netherlands as "the flying housewife" after winning four gold medals at the 1948 Olympics, died, Sunday, Jan 25, 2005. Blankers-Koen was 85.
