South Florida bars have turned Mayan in the face of the ancient Central American expiration date for the planet.
On Friday, Dec. 21, Tap 42 will tap a keg of Unibroue's La Fin Du Monde triple golden ale to wave the Earth goodbye. While Five Points Lounge acknowledges there's no certainty the world will end, the bar's party will still rage Friday starting at 10 p.m. There's no cover for guests 21 and older, and two local bands will perform. (Facebook.com)
The Culture Room invited the Heavy Pets to jam showgoers through the end of the world. Tickets cost $17.55 at Ticketmaster.com.
The Green Room advises on its Facebook event page that guest "get dunk [sic] before midnight," when the venue will charge no cover and offer two-for-one drinks. Resident DJ LinderSmash of Black Friday events will play his usual set, but guest DJs will also have time allotted, including birthday boy DJ Machinist.

Respectable Street Cafe has planned an evening of music, free food and henna tattoos during the venue's weekly Flaunt party. From 8 p.m. until guests go home, or disappear in an end-of-days rapture, but the party is Thursday night. (Facebook.com)
