"I've convinced myself ¿ I hope I'm right ¿ that children despair of you if you don't tell them the truth," the late, famed children¿s author Maurice Sendak once told Terry Gross of NPR¿s "Fresh Air." So given the setting of the traveling exhibit "Where the Wild Things Are: Maurice Sendak in His Own Words and Pictures" ¿ the Young at Art Museum in Davie ¿ one hopes the picture-book illustrator's wicked, sometimes controversial sense of humor stays intact. Short answer: It does. In addition to Sendak memorabilia, the show allows families to read oversize copies of the author"s works. $11-$13. 954-424-0085 or YoungatArtMuseum.org.
