Friday: "Souls of Our Shoes" at FAU's Wimberly Library

"Souls of Our Shoes," a exhibit by 20-year-old FAU junior Maria Mor, was created when the student decided to stalk a few students and point a camera at their eclectic choices of shoes.

Mor devoted the bulk of her spring 2012 semester to the sociological project, describing the footwear in her artist statement as an "archive for people's personalities."

The photos of disembodied feet depict everything from crocs to rugged cowboy boots, each accompanied by a testimonial from the wearer that reveals the philosophies that lie in their hearts and minds. On display through September at Florida Atlantic University's Wimberly Library (777 Glades Road, Boca Raton).
