Known for first-run movie premieres and as home base for the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival,
this art house loves getting freaky when the occasion arises. A recent rock musical, dubbed "The Rat Opera,"
celebrated the life and noise of Miami scenester Rat Bastard, while the Miami-born "Lip Service" storytelling
series presented tales of love, honeymoons and the art of removing hemorrhoids. Scandalous, CP. Scandalous.

The museum's arts programming has boomed since Bonnie Clearwater became director a year ago. "The Miami Generation: Revisited," "Research and Development: Concerning Belonging" and "When the Stars Begin To Fall" are a perfect marriage of contemporary
art stamped with local flavor. The 2014-15 schedule, which will include retrospectives on Frida Kahlo and photographer
Lee Miller, also looks promising.
This unpretentious hangout is technically neither a bar nor a restaurant, though its brew selection and
comfort foods are ample enough to rival both. A craft mecca in a sleepy neighborhood, Riverside carries 500
bottled brews, stacked high and deep behind a wall of refrigerated cases. Tap takeovers are prime occasions for your

"Jeet?" is the question co-owner Bobbie Strauss asks every hungry visitor at this Galt Ocean Mile spot. If you don't
know what it means, you're obviously not from South Philly. (For the record, the word is Philly shorthand for "Did you eat?")
The cheesesteaks here are chopped sirloin topped with Cheese Whiz which, yes, is another South Philly tradition.
