You can shop like a designer at the Design Center Building, 1429 Park St., in Hartford, this weekend, where a number of special sales are taking place. (Enter the building on Bartholomew Avenue, where free parking is available.)

>>The POSH Sale, a fundraiser for the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art takes place at The Design Center on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7, 8 and 9. Organized by The Costume & Textile Society of the Wadsworth, the sale features gently worn couture, designer and vintage items at resale including Armani, Dior, Dries Van Noten, Hermes, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Spade and more.

Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m., is premier night. The event features shopping, entertainment and refreshments. Tickets, available at the door, are $30. Admission is free on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. Information: www.thewadsworth.org or 860-243-3033.

Little Free Library in Columbia hold a used book sale Saturday, Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 9, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Books are priced from 25 cents to $3 and on Sunday, books are half-price.
