McKinley Park saw a double homicide Saturday, police said.
Two men, ages 17 and 20, were killed in an auto crash when one vehicle rammed another vehicle near the intersection of Western and Archer Avenues, police said. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the deaths homicides.
McKinley Park has seen two homicides so far this year. The Southwest Side community area logged one homicide last year, RedEye data shows.
Citywide, gunshot homicides were recorded in the last week in Chicago Lawn, Gage Park, South Shore and Washington Heights, according to RedEye data.
Meanwhile, a 42-year-old man was stabbed to death Jan. 11 in the 600 block of West Patterson Avenue in Lakeview, officials said. In West Lawn, a 60-year-old man died in an arson fire Sunday in the 4200 block of West 63rd Street, police said.
Twenty-nine homicides have been logged so far this month. Police recorded 28 homicides in January 2011, RedEye data shows.Copyright © 2015, CT Now
