#getnoticed: Connecticut's Most Stylish
The best style flows from the boutique to the street. You've seen them, people who turn heads, who cook up their own style. CTNow has stopped them while we're out and about on the Connecticut streets and asked them, how do you do it? Know someone who should #getnoticed? Tweet us @gotoctnow with that hashtag and we just might find them for a photo.
Joe Mceveen, NYC Retail Manager
We met Joe Mceveen on a visit home, walking though downtown New Haven, sporting his casual look, a mix of pieces from from H&M and Macy’s. Joe is originally from New Haven but now lives in New York City, where he manages the Polo Ralph Lauren section of Macy’s in Herald Square. He’s been with the company for 12 years, and between the customers and the tourists, Joe says working in Macy’s flagship store is exciting because “no day is the same.”
CTNow: What’s your favorite part of your job?
Joe: It’s numbers, people and fashion, all combined.
CTNow: What is it about fashion that you like?
Joe: I love that it changes. Nothing is the same. It can change from day to day, week to week, month to month.
CTNow: How has your personal style changed over the past 12 years?
Joe: Wow. It was very urban at one point, and then it became very preppy. Now it’s a mix of the two.
