Thousands of guests turned out for the pre-Super Bowl 6th annual Chowdafest competition Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport. More than 32 samples of chowder, soup and bisque were prepared by 28 chefs and restaurants. Donovan's Restaurant of South Norwalk won Best Classic New England Chowder, Dunville's Restaurant of Westport won best Best Traditional Manhattan Chowder, Bistro 7 of Wilton won Best Bisque with its Buttery Nut Bisque and The Brewhouse Restaurant of South Norwalk won Best Creative Chowder with its chicken and roasted corn chowder. Proceeds from Chowdafest benefit the Connecticut Food Bank.
