The Amistad Center for Art and Culture in Hartford hosted an reception on Martin Luther King Day to honor the release of "African American Connecticut Explored." The book is a collection of essays that cover topics such as the Black Governors of Connecticut, the African American community's response to the Amistad trial and the Civil Rights work of baseball great Jackie Robinson.
