The Centennial Fun Run, a summer series of family oriented one-mile runs through the Centennial development, begins its season Tue., June 21 at 7:30 p.m. The first race will be a fundraiser for the Johns Hopkins Pancreatic Cancer Center in memory of local running pioneer, Bob Dust. There is a suggested donation of $2 per person.

The CSC Knights FC (U-11, U-12, U-13 and U-15 boys) continue tryouts Wed. and Thu., June 22-23 and 29-30 at 6 p.m. at Wheaton Woods Elementary, 4510 Faroe Place, Rockville. E-mail

Team registration is being accepted for the Central Maryland Soccer Association's fall 2011 travel leagues, scheduled to begin the weekend of Sept. 10-11. CMSA offers separate Saturday and Sunday leagues. Single-age league groupings are available for both boys and girls teams in ages of U-8 through U-18. All registration will be conducted by mail. Registration is open for the Elkridge Youth Organization fall soccer program. Regular registration ends June 30; late registration ends July 31. Register early as some leagues do fill up.

EYO soccer is a coed, recreational program that places an emphasis on instruction, fitness and fun. Games are played at Rockburn Park and Waterloo Park. Players ages 4-18 are welcome. Micro Soccer Program (U-4, U-5 and U-6) is an introduction soccer with emphasis on fun and building individual skills. Players must be in at least kindergarten. July 18-22 and July 25-29 from 9 a.m.-noon.

Summer camps (U-7 to U-16). The camps are suitable for teams and individuals and for players of all levels including recreational and travel. July 18-22, July 25-29 and Aug. 1-5, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Kernan Sports Medicine is offering high school sports physicals at the following times:

Dr. Mike Caprarola's 18th annual All-Star Shooting Clinic is open to boys and girls ages 7-18 and runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The clinic is held at Chapelgate Christian Academy and consists of six, one-week sessions running June 27-Aug. 14. For an application, email or call 410-750-0732.

The Julius Prezelski Basketball School will be held July 25-28 at Resurrection School in Ellicott City. The camp is for boys and girls entering grades three through eight this fall. The camp runs from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Go to

The Reservoir Boosters boys basketball camp is scheduled for Aug. 1-5, 9 a.m.-noon, at Reservoir High School. This camp is for rising sixth to ninth grade boys. A boys and girls youth basketball camp will be held the same week from 1-4 p.m. This camp is for rising second to fifth grade boys and girls. The Wilde Lake Boosters boys basketball camp is scheduled for Aug. 1-5 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Wilde Lake High School. This camp is for boys and girls ages 9 and up and is open to all skill levels. The camp will be run by the Wilde Lake Basketball coaching staff, along with former NBA All-Star Phil Chenier. The first three Glenelg High Boosters Sports Camps are approaching — girls basketball, boys and girls soccer and a new speed and agility camp. The Hammond High Boosters Sports Camps for boys and girls soccer, boys and girls lacrosse and cheerleading will take place the week of July 18-22. Cross country

The Friday Night Striders cross country series will be held Friday nights June 17 (Wilde Lake), July 8 (River Hill), July 22 (Reservoir), July 29 (Hammond) and Aug. 12 (Oakland Mills) at different high schools. Cost: $5 per race; run three of the five races and receive a Striders' performance shirt.

Speed and agility

Former Baltimore Raven Quadry Ismail and former Baltimore Orioles trainer Tim Bishop will host QFit Speed and Agility Day Camp for grades 7 and above at Goucher College July 16-17. The camp runs from 8 a.m. to noon. Go to QIMissile or call 301-848-0305.
