Playwright Michael Wanzie's fall season will be devoted to preparing his new holiday comedy, which will debut at the Parliament House in November.
"Wanzie's Orange Blossom Trail Living Nativity Christmas Spectacular" is the lengthy title — but that just about says it all, don't you think?
In the musical comedy, the North Orange Blossom Trail Beautification Society asks businesses and residents around Parliament House to cooperate on a Living Nativity for Christmas — a pageant that re-enacts the birth of Jesus as recounted in the Bible.
Things don't go entirely smoothly, but what would you expect when among the participants are drag queen Gidget Galore and Taffy Pinkerbox, the title character of Doug Ba'aser's Fringe show "Tired Old Whore."
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, Nov. 29-Dec. 20, with an extra performance at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22. The show will be staged at the Parliament House's Footlight Theatre, 410 N. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando.
Tickets are $18 in advance, $20 at the door. Tickets will be on sale at Wanzie.comCopyright © 2015, CT Now
