Universal Orlando has raised the prices of its annual passes.
The cost of a basic pass has gone from $214.99 to $234.99 for Florida residents. That basic pass does not provide parking. It also has blackout dates for one of Universal's two theme parks during the summer. The park typically fluctuates each year. Islands of Adventure – where the new King Kong ride opens this summer - will not accept the basic passes this year.
A mid-tier pass that provides parking and has no blackout dates costs $309.99, up from $299.99.
A pass loaded with extra benefits such as free valet parking, front-of-the-line access after 4 p.m., and a Halloween Horror Nights ticket now costs $444.99. It used to cost $429.99
Earlier this year, Universal Orlando's ticket prices jumped to $105 from $102.
Walt Disney World last year put into place big increases in its pass prices that included a $120 hike for Florida residents who want access to the theme parks every day of the year. Disney also introduced a new option: the $549 mid-tier pass allowing visits during summer, but not spring break or Christmastime.
