Twelve designers, writers, directors and other theme park creative types will gather for the fourth annual Entertainment Designers Forum on Friday.
The event features two separate panels that will chat about design philosophies and styles. Q&As will follow each session, and there will be a silent auction of park-related collectibles, artwork, memorabilia and other items. Cost is $25 for one session, $45 for both sessions, which will take place at the Orlando Repertory Theatre.
Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society in honor of Stephanie Girard, a set designer and art director at Universal Studios and in the movie industry who died in 2010 after a battle with colon cancer.
Participating in the 6:30 p.m. session will be Laura Tyler, winner of Season 5 of "Face Off"; Eric Baker, senior prop master for Wizarding World of Harry Potter -- Diagon Alley at Universal Studios; Gene Columbus, executive director of Orlando Repertory Theatre; Nick Collins, scenic designer at Universal Studios; designer/illustrator Cindy White; and Brian Morrow, senior director, attraction development and design at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens.
Participating in the 9 p.m. session will be Bryn Court, lead sculptor of Diagon Alley at Universal Studios; Robbi Lepre, director of theatrical services at Busch Gardens; Charles Gray, assistant show director for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios; Michael Roddy, show writer/show director for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts; Mark Hervat, manager, art & design, creative entertainmentat Walt Disney Parks; Michael Brunett, designer, special effects and prosthetic makeup at Universal.
The moderators will be Kim Gromoll and Mike Aiello.
