Former Orlando Lake Highland Prep volleyball player Taylor Sherwin earned MVP honors this past weekend after leading Ohio State to the championship of the Northern Illinois Invitational.
She was also named Big Ten Setter of the Week for her efforts.
The junior setter had 158 assists during the tournament, in which the No. 23 Buckeyes defeated Northern Illinois in the championship, as well as Green Bay and Liberty.
Sherwin averaged 12.15 assists over 13 sets. Against Green Bay, she had a career-best 68 assists in the 3-2 win and added two blocks, two kills and five digs. Sherwin finished with 50 assists in the team's five-set win over Northern Illinois with a season-best three kills. She also had 40 assists against Liberty with eight digs and two kills as Ohio State opened the season 3-0.
