Rosie O'Donnell rejoining 'The View,' ABC confirms

UPDATED: Are you ready for another round of Rosie?

Rosie O'Donnell will rejoin "The View," ABC confirmed Thursday. She will be a co-host, and Whoopi Goldberg will remain as moderator. The show has other slots to fill because Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy are departing. on Tuesday reported that O'Donnell was coming back and cited "sources connected with the negotiations."

At that time, ABC said it would have no announcement for weeks. But the network reversed itself Thursday.

O'Donnell had a high-rated and fiery time on the ABC chatfest when she squared off against Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Donald Trump. But O'Donnell left "The View" in 2007 after less than a year with the show. Hasselbeck is now at "Fox & Friends."

Goldberg replaced O'Donnell as moderator on "The View." Goldberg and O'Donnell can be counted on to provide liberal views.

TMZ says producers are looking for a conservative (possibly Margaret Hoover or Abby Huntsman) and a Latina for the show's new mix of hosts.

Shepherd and McCarthy confirmed on Monday that they are leaving the show.

Shepherd was there for seven seasons. McCarthy spent just one season on "The View," but it was the final one for Barbara Walters as well. With those three women gone, next season will be quite different.
