After months of silence, the wife of Pulse nightclub shooter Omar Mateen finally broke her silence Tuesday in an interview with The New York Times

Noor Salman said the events at Pulse that left 49 people dead and at least 68 injured left her "shattered and afraid."

In the Times story, the Rodeo, Calif. native said she "often can’t get out of bed and depends on family members to take care of her son. She has moved three times since the attack, hoping to avoid the media, and asked that her current location not be disclosed."

The Times said his last text message to her was "I love you babe."
