Orlando Shakespeare Theater has free open house

Orlando Shakespeare Theater will open the doors of its home, the Lowndes Shakespeare Center in Loch Haven Park, for a free open house this Saturday.

Guests can enjoy cupcakes provided by The Yum Yum Cupcake Truck, take a behind-the-scenes building tour, watch sneak peek rehearsal of this fall's production of "Les Misérables," and try their luck in a "Pick-A-Tick" raffle for tickets and prizes from Orlando Shakes and other local arts organizations.

Families are encouraged to participate in fun crafts and photo opportunities with costumed characters.

The event is 11 a.m.-2 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 23, at the John and Rita Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 E. Rollins St., Orlando.

You can just show up, but the Shakes would appreciate an RSVP (You don't want them running out of cupcakes, do you?). To RSVP or for more information, go to orlandoshakes.org/openhouse. For other questions, call 407-447-1700, Ext. 1.
