A reporter with a theme song? Yep, this is real

Batman, the Ghostbusters, Rocky, Axel Foley and Austin Powers all have theme songs.

Why shouldn't a reporter have a theme song?

Earlier this month, my role at the Orlando Sentinel expanded to include more video updates and stories that reflect a different side of Central Florida. Instead of focusing on commentary like the Sentinel's Scott Maxwell and Beth Kassab, I'll be highlighting the people and events that make Orlando unique.

That might include a video feature on underwater hockey at the YMCA Aquatic Center on International Drive, a look at how a pig named Chris P. Bacon is getting along with the use of a wheelchair or a glimpse at how I might spend the Powerball lottery jackpot.

So before I'm too busy shooting video and covering events from Christmas to Clermont, I decided to enlist the help of a friend and craft my very own theme song. (Thanks, Steve Harris)

Do you hate the song? Love it? Let me know what you think by sending me a message at

Or, if you have an idea for a story or video, there's tons of ways to reach me:

When Garry Postell opens his garage sale this weekend at his College Park home, he won't be selling old blenders, lightly-used work-out equipment and other junk that nobody needs. He'll have the music of Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis and Bob Dylan at his semi-annual, all-vinyl sale.
