Gaylord Palms: Frosty the Snowman coming to ICE

Frosty the Snowman will be the centerpiece of the ICE exhibit at Gaylord Palms for the upcoming holiday season.

The frigid attraction, set to operate at the Kissimmee resort from Nov. 23 to Jan. 5, will feature scenes from the animated TV "Frosty the Snowman" special that debuted in 1969. It traditionally airs on CBS.

Gaylord's seasonal exhibit features 2 million pounds of ice hand-carved into sculptures by a group of people flown in from Harbin, China, an ice-carving hotbed. The 2013 edition of ICE will include "Artisans in Action," an ice-carving zone with a carvers demonstrating the skill.

In addition to the "Frosty" scenes, expect four ice slides and the traditional grand finale of a Navitity scene made from ice.

Online and advance tickets are selling for $28.99 ($14.99 for ages 4-12). A Florida resident discount is available. For more information, go to
