Did Casey Anthony's mother give her money? Gonzalez lawyers want to know

Has Casey Anthony been the benefactor of funds from her parents' charity? Attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez, the woman suing Anthony for defamation, want to know.

"Our sources have indicated that she has received money directly from her mother, Cindy," Matt Morgan, one of Gonzalez's attorneys, told the Sentinel. He stressed that his firm has not independently confirmed money transfers have occurred; that, he said, is the point of a new request for information filed in the defamation suit Tuesday.

The filing comes on the heels of a recent People magazine report which indicated thatDr. Phil McGraw, host of the Dr. Phil show, donated $600,000 to the charity established by Anthony's parents in honor of her daughter, Caylee Marie.

"It's rumored that Dr. Phil made a generous contribution to the Caylee Marie Anthony trust fund and some of the proceeds" have been given to Casey Anthony, Morgan said.

An attorney for George and Cindy Anthony was not immediately available Tuesday afternoon.

The new filing is the latest of several similar back-and-forth requests for information as the civil suit marches toward a January trial. Gonzalez alleges that Anthony defamed her when Anthony told investigators that a similarly named nanny had kidnapped Caylee in 2008. The 2-year-old was later found dead. Authorities say the nanny didn't exist. or 407-420-5171
