Used to checking your email while you're on the phone and squeezing in a light lunch? Whelp, that's making you fat, according to a recent study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
Multitasking while eating can distract your mind and prompt you to eat more, said researcher Dr. Howard LeWine in his blog on the Harvard Medical School's website.
It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to signal "I'm full." If you're hurrying or not paying attention, it's easy to take in more calories than you need in 20 minutes.
