The lowdown: Moonfish is another welcome addition to the local seafood scene. It doesn't do everything right, but the outlook is encouraging. Concentrate on the fresh fish selections and avoid anything too fancy. Have the calamari as an appetizer and spring for the sorbets at dessert -- there's enough to share. The Moonfish menu also offers prime and choice mid-western aged steaks cooked over a natural wood-burning pit and an intriguing sushi menu.
The background: Moonfish is a concept from Talk of the Town Restaurant Group, which also includes Charley's Steak House, FishBones, Texas Cattle Company, Vito's Chop House and Johnnie's Hideaway. The company, which has a reputation for satisfying the customer, has been around since 1974.
