With their second first-round pick in 1991, the Orlando Magic selected Louisiana State center Stanley Roberts at No. 23. After the Magic drafted Shaquille O'Neal, they traded Roberts as part of a three-way deal with the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers. The Magic received two first-round draft picks and sent Roberts to the Clippers. In that trade, New York received point guard Doc Rivers, guard Bo Kimble and guard Charles Smith from the Clippers, and the Clippers received point guard Mark Jackson and a second-round pick in 1995 from the Knicks in addition to Roberts.
