What a great picnic.
Ronald McDonald House Charities held its first annual picnic for the families of the Imperial Valley on April 13 at Eager Park in Imperial.
Dillard’s presented a check for $43,622.78 from the sale of their Southern Living Cookbook available at Christmastime. Thank you to State Farm Insurance, Lawna Cervantes, owner, provided their popcorn machine and shaved ice machine along with four staff members, Dillon, Judy, Elena and Robbie; Sara Griffin with the Imperial Valley Food Bank for the hot dogs, Steve Sharp for the hot dog buns, Cameron Campbell, our official photographer, and Lynn Weissman for invaluable assistance and an anonymous friend for all the paper goods.
Thank you to Sandy Camarillo, COO, Maranella Camarillo, Family Care coordinator, Gabi Rivers, house manager from San Diego, Mr. Fernando Rodrigues, McDonald’s district manager, Corina Rodrigues and her crew from the Brawley McDonald’s and IVROP from El Centro for the activities for the children.
Four lucky children won bicycles and helmets to match, plus numerous prizes for young and old alike. The weather was beautiful and Mother Nature did not send the wind until the end of the picnic.
Eager Park is perfect for family gatherings. Imperial is to be commended for such a nice facility.
Jan Hester was present to lend a hand too.
