“Thank you to the nice woman who planted such wonderful flowers in front of the old library in downtown Boonsboro. We appreciate you, and your care for our community.”
Michael Bloomberg ... and how they buy votes for big government.”
“A 5-year-old gun owner shoots and kills his 2-year old sister. He cannot legally purchase a gun, but he can own one. He also missed out on several basic rules I grew up with in our small-game-hunting household: Never point a gun at a person. Never bring a loaded gun into the house. Always keep guns and ammunition secure from children.”

“I would like to know why, when I go walking at the City Park in the mornings, does the bathroom stall smell like straight ammonia. Can’t they use something else? It’s ridiculous. Also, I read this morning about young kids going around smashing the ducks with baseball bats. Yes, when I was walking my dogs, I saw one of the badly beaten ducks. I think in the evenings and at night there needs to be more patrols at the City Park, with police presence.”
“This is in response to Monday, May 6, about the mama duck and her babies. Call the police. ... If you chase the (children) and one of them falls down and breaks his arm, you’re liable. Call the police. Have you tried talking to the parents? Call the police. How many times do you people need to be told this? Call the police. It’s called animal cruelty.”
“Trains should be able to blow their horns at all railroad crossings, be it residential or other. The accident in the North End with the car on the railroad tracks, if that wasn’t an emergency, I don’t know what is. I think it’s time to change the rules. Besides, train horns sound delightful.”
“I would really like some feedback on this question. I have family that has a child with a birthday, two birthdays in one month, and they have money problems, but they will not combine the two birthdays together, which to me makes no sense. But is this a young person thing? I’m in my 50s. ... I just don’t understand people have money problems, wouldn’t combine a birthday.”
“I think that we have a world of good people. There’s people out there that will help other people. They will stop, they give the shirt off their back, they will take you where you need to go. This country is full and loaded with very, very good people. And I’ve come to the conclusion that the only bad people in this country are our elected officials, because they don’t do anything that we want them to do.”

“I had to chuckle when I read George Michael’s column in the May 3 Herald-Mail. He claims the 10 most miserable cities in America, as per Forbes magazine, are all in blue states; implying that folks in Democratic-leaning states aren’t as happy as those who live in states that usually vote Republican. I checked to see if there’s a similar list from Forbes noting America’s happiest cities, which there is. Guess what? Eight of the 10 happiest cities are also in blue states. Come on, George.”
“I’ve been watching this Jodi Arias trial, and I find it ridiculous. These commentators and so-called experts, they act like a bunch of vultures on a piece of roadkill, or a bunch of hyenas on an antelope, dead carcass.”
