“Where were all these Republican deficit hawks during eight long years of Dubya’s tax giveaways and two unfunded wars? Drinking their bitter tea and vowing to impose severe austerity as soon as the inevitable backlash brought a Democrat into the White house to blame it on.”
“Good news. President Obama is no longer being compared to Carter. The bad news, he is now being compared to Nixon. To those who think the current scandals are nothing more than a witch hunt, when you have that one question or thought not preauthorized and approved by the administration, particularly if it concerns national security, a smaller government, free speech or your God-given rights, you too will be targeted. Let’s hope there are enough unintimidated Americans left to speak up on your behalf.”

“PFC Bradley Manning’s trial began today. I encourage everyone to pay attention to the exposure of truth.”
“Tragedy: Connecticut, Oklahoma, California, Colorado and other states; mass shooting of schoolchildren; wild fires, flooding, tornadoes. Results: Loss of loved ones, ruined lives, homes and property destroyed, businesses gone and whole towns devastated. Tragedy: Hagerstown, Md., speed cameras. Results: Weeping, wailing, whining and gnashing of teeth over being limited to going only 12 mph over posted speed limits in school zones. Things are tough everywhere.”

“I’m calling about John Delaney’s town hall meeting on the telephone, for veterans. I was calling because I’m a veteran, and I started listening, and he took a couple calls, from veterans, but I am very disappointed in Mr. Delaney, because all he did was give speeches, and nothing really for the veterans.”
“In response to the caller concerning William Jefferson Clinton being the best president ever: From your perspective, maybe; however, Clinton is the reason why bin Laden obtained so much influence, as Clinton failed to act upon the al-Qaida problem, when doing so would have been less complicated and shown the world that America is no one’s fool. He failed to act decisively in Somalia, where I lost brethren, Black Hawk Down. He failed ... after two American embassy bombings.”

“I live near Salem Avenue school, and I just love the speed zone up here at the far west end of Salem Avenue. Thing works great. It’s not too hard to get out on Salem Avenue anymore because people aren’t speeding like they used to. And as far as kids playing on the school grounds after hours and on the weekends, come on up to Salem Avenue school, like I said, evenings or weekends. There’s families over there with their children, people walking their dogs.”
“Why does Washington County’s school system transfer coaches to a school where a vacancy occurs? Now there are two schools looking for coaches. Bringing in an outside coach brings new ideas, new coaching skills, along with different experiences. This also cuts back on player favoritism. Whenever parents are involved in a coach’s selection, a payback usually happens. Have experienced this.”

“I’d like to know what kind of a system that we have here, when a judge orders someone to pay child support to a known drug dealer.”
“To the caller from Halfway: I don’t know the exact date of the last snow of this year, but I would say there’s a good chance it’ll be in December. You’re welcome, no charge.”
