A vote for referendum is a vote for quality jobs
To the editor:
Franklin County. With 21 years of employment at Whitetail, I am very confident that, as a reputable business in our community, we will approach this new endeavor with the utmost of professionalism and responsibility.
By supporting this referendum, you are supporting the creation of new jobs at Whitetail with an expanded restaurant and new year-round offerings that will make the resort more competitive with other resorts in the area. As many know, the job picture hasn’t been great in our area. And, when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, it makes it even harder at Whitetail. You have the ability to help change that picture for the better.
I have talked to numerous township residents regarding this referendum. We all understand that a healthy Whitetail helps the entire area with more tax revenue and jobs. Remember, the more that is spent at Whitetail by those visiting allows for more jobs and less taxes taken out of our pockets. Last year, Whitetail paid more than $270,000 in local taxes. That number can grow and make sure the local tax burden doesn’t fall on our shoulders.
I ask my fellow Montgomery Township residents to help support our community and vote in favor of the referendum.

Zook is best choice for 39th Judicial District
To the editor:
I am supporting Jeremiah Zook for judge of the 39th Judicial District. I take my vote seriously and selecting a judge is an important decision.
I have met all of the candidates and examined their records. I believe Mr. Zook to be the best qualified to be our next judge. He has spent most of his career as a litigator, arguing cases before judges and juries on a day-to-day basis. For more than seven years, he has been an assistant district attorney — prosecuting murderers, rapists, drug dealers and other criminals who threaten our communities.
Mr. Zook has experience in civil and family law when he was in private practice, but his experience as a criminal prosecutor is impressive. And it is important that we elect a judge who has the knowledge and experience to administer efficient and competent justice.
