On behalf of the South Dakota Snow Queen Festival, we would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in our First Annual Frosty Fest at Centennial Village June 22. The weather cooperated to help make the music just that much better along with the great food, beer and other beverages. Congratulations to our split pot and basket raffle winners. We were able to meet our $2,500 matching funds for Modem Woodman of America as well.
What is a music festival without the bands? Thank you to the bands and musicians who donated their time: Perk Washenberger, Rae & the Ranch Hands; Jack & Rayma Smith with JoAnn Derry, Double S Duo; Kurt Smith & Frank Schwan, Kayla Clifford, David Blake, Gary Myhre, Bill Schwan, Tim Anderson, Tom & Joni Lammon, Silence Unknown and Honest Engine.
We received a lot of help from our sponsors. Thank you to Modem Woodman of America, Centennial Village and Brown County Fairgrounds, Ken's SuperFair Foods, Porter Beverages, Geffdog, Pauer Sound, Dakota Broadcasting, John M. Carrels, Hub City Radio, Pepsi-Co, Not of this World Handyman Services, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of Aberdeen and the Aberdeen Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Funds raised at South Dakota Snow Queen events such as this are used to provide scholarships and travels for our queens and dignitary chaperones to represent South Dakota across the U.S.A. and Canada.
