IUPUI is hosting the US Paralympics track and field trials. 250 athletes are trying to grab a roster spot on the US Paralympic track and field team.

The competition isn't the only thing making them sweat. The high temperatures are contributing too. Misting stations are set up, along with plenty of shade and water for the athletes and their families.

“He's used to competing in this kind of weather. And mom isn't used to spectating in this kind of weather,” said Kelly Williamson, mother of a Paralympic athlete.

The afternoon schedule is being left open to keep the athletes out of the day’s heat. No events are held between noon and six and longer events are held in the evening. Trials continue through Sunday.
