Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps took time to speak to kids at the Boys and Girls Club of Indianapolis Wednesday.

Phelps answered questions and met with some of the kids one-on-on and announced the expansion of his Dream, Plan, Reach Foundation. The foundation’s Individual Medley program will soon arrive in Indianapolis. The goal is to encourage healthy and active lifestyles.

Phelps said he enjoyed some of the artwork the boys and girls made specifically for his visit.

He said he most enjoys teaching kids that anything is possible.

“At times it is kind of hard to put into words, but this is better than anything, being able to see a smile on their face puts a real smile on my face," said Phelps.

Phelps is in town for the USA Swimming Grand Prix event at IUPUI. The event runs Thursday through Saturday.
