Nighttime mosquito spraying to begin earlier in Indianapolis
The Marion County Health Department Mosquito Control program will begin on May 23rd, a week earlier than planned, due to the recent rain. The environmentally safe program is one element used to reduce the mosquito population and limit the risk of the West Nile virus.

"Ideally we want to eliminate mosquitoes before they reach adulthood. The community can help us by eliminating areas of standing water where mosquitoes breed," said Chuck Dulla, administrator for mosquito control.

If you would like to be notified by the health department when they plan to spray in your neighborhood, you can register for a free notification service by calling (317) 221-7440.
