IUPUI to greet students during annual Weeks of Welcome

IUPUI plans a series of events to welcome students as class resumes Monday.

The school will kick off the start of the new academic year with its annual Weeks of Welcome (WOW) celebration, which starts with new student welcome from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday outside Taylor Hall. The event includes greetings from student, faculty and staff leaders, food, games and entertainment.

IUPUI Chancellor Charles R. Bantz will deliver a welcome message at 3:15 p.m. Motivational speaker Bill Cordes will follow at around 3:30 p.m.

Other activities include an expo and ice cream party on Tuesday and a residence hall block party on Wednesday. On Thursday, the university will hold open house at the Campus Center. Other entertainment includes a performance from My Yellow Rickshaw and a National Pan-Hellenic Council Yard Show.

Other WOW events at IUPUI include the United Way Day of Caring on September 14 and the IUPUI canal regatta on September 22.
