For the first time ever, two companies are coming together to help college students enter the construction field.

The Indiana Construction Roundtable and IndianaIntern.net hosted their first career fair on IUPUI's campus Monday.

While most career fairs usually feature a table-filled room, Monday’s fair had a keynote speaker.  It also featured opportunities for students to meet-and-greet with the nation's leading construction vendors.

The goal was to help students find and keep a job in the ever-expanding construction field.

"We've got architects and engineers, general contractors, then subcontractors, mechanical and electrical plumbing, as well as framing and carpentry and the rest of the divisions in the construction that all are members of the IRC," said Charlie Hill, Buckingham Construction.

Both ICR and IndianaIntern.net hope to make the career fair an annual event.
