Tomorrow, school starts in East Granby and Bethel, two weeks before Labor Day which typically marks the start of the school season.
"I don't think it's too early this year," said one East Granby Grandmother as her Grandson shouted over her words that it was indeed too early.
Because Labor Day is on September 7th this year, a majority of schools around the State are starting school before the holiday, according to the State Department of Education. About a third of the children in Connecticut will head back to school this week including those in Bridgeport, Windsor, Winsted and Bristol. Next week is when a majority of the schools in the State start, including Hartford and West Hartford on August 31st. New Haven, Avon and Bloomfield all start school on September 2nd. North Branford, Griswold and Franklin start school on September 3rd. However, there is one town waiting until after Labor Day: Farmington students will return to school on September 8th.
