South Bend mayor serves breakfast to promote biking to work
SOUTH BEND – Breakfast was on South Bend’s mayor but only if you were cycling on Tuesday.

It was part of "Bike to Work" week.

Tuesday morning, cyclists gathered in front of LaSalle Grill for a blueberry pancake breakfast.

South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg served up the breakfast.

If you biked to the event, you ate for free.

Hundreds of bikers came to enjoy the bright morning and good food.

“For 1st Source, being the largest community bank in northern Indiana, it really is important for us to promote healthy living, so we can build a better community, and that goes for customers, but also employees,” said 1st Source Bank President Jim Seitz.

There will be a "Bike to Lunch" event on Friday at the old College Football Hall of Fame, starting at 11:30 a.m.
