PIMENTO, Ind. (AP) — Bloomington police say they have completed their search of a western Indiana landfill without finding any evidence connected with the disappearance of an Indiana University student.

The Bloomington Police Department said in a statement Friday that its officers, the FBI and the IU Police Department finished n searching Sycamore Ridge Landfill south of Terre Haute about noon. Police began searching the landfill Aug. 16 for clues in the disappearance of 20-year-old Lauren Spierer (SPEER'-ur).

Police say officers searched through more than 4,100 tons of waste over the nine-day search.

The Greenburgh, N.Y., woman vanished June 3 after a night out in Bloomington with friends.
