LaGrange County police say a man who ran away from the scene of an accident where police found meth lab materials has turned himself in.

Police say Jason Adkins was already wanted on separate charges at the time of the crash. Officers tried to pull him over late on the night of July 19 as he was speeding through the county.

Adkins ran a red light and crashed the car into multiple trees and fence posts at 1635 E 400 N. When police pulled up, he ran away.

Officers arrested two of his passengers – 20-year-old Brianne Benak and 27-year-old Jeremy Brock.

The car was stocked with several items used to manufacture meth.

Benak and Brock were both booked into jail on various drug related charges.

Adkins remained on the loose until Sunday, July 21. Police say he turned himself in and has since been booked into LaGrange County Jail on several outstanding warrants and additional charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Precursors with intent to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Common Nuisance, Resisting Law Enforcement with a Motor Vehicle, and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident.

Adkins is being held with no bond.
