'Pink Panther' actor Herbert Lom dies at 95

Herbert Lom (left) passed away Thursday, September, 27th at the age of 95.

Herbert Lom, the Czechoslovakian-born actor who starred as Inspector Clouseau's boss Chief Inspector Charles Dreyfus in the Pink Panther movies, has died at the age of 95, reports the AP.

Lom's son Alec says the actor, born Herbert Charles Angelo Kuchacevich ze Schluderpacheru, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday (Sept. 27) in London.

Over his 67-year career, Lom also starred alongside Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers in "The Ladykillers," Kirk Douglas in "Spartacus" and Charlton Heston in "El Cid," before being cast as Charles Dreyfus in "A Shot in the Dark," a character he would play in seven Pink Panther movies.
